Episode Synopsis: Part 1 of 3. The beloved, Emmy Award-winning 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," a comedy of manners, opens with the vivacious Elizabeth Bennet (Jennifer Ehle) taking a dislike to the haughty Mr. Darcy (Colin Firth). Meanwhile, her sister Jane (Susannah Harker) falls for Darcy's good-natured friend Charles Bingley (Crispin Bonham-Carter), the Bennets' new neighbor. Mrs. Bennet: Alison Steadman.
