Science journalist Michael Mosley explores whether cutting-edge science can improve his life. He begins by attempting to boost his I.Q. by 12 points so that he can join Mensa, a high-I.Q. society. To that end, he meets contestants from the U.K. Memory Championships; visits institutes in America that aim to nurture intelligence in babies; and meets with "America's smartest man," Chris Langan. He also participates in a neurofeedback session and plays specially designed video games.
