Six strangers race to reach New York City after being stranded in a remote spot in this reality series produced by Conan O'Brien's company and based on a British hit. The `Amazing Race' clone premiered just prior to the Sept. 11 attacks that left viewers, at the time, desiring less `reality' in their TV entertainment, resulting in the show's quick cancellation.

  • Exclusive: Lost Rescues Denis Leary's TV Wife! | Today's News: Our Take | 10/17/2007
Is Rescue Me's Tommy Gavin about to suffer yet another personal tragedy? Reliable sources close to Lost confirm to me exclusively that Andrea Roth — aka Denis Leary's long-suffering spouse on Rescue Me — is joining the cast in a recurring role. Details about her character are being kept under wraps, but a recent Lost casting notice went out for a female character in her mid-thirties described as "a tough, no-nonsense and beautiful" therapist who has a tendancy to be "overly controlling and obsessive." Sounds like a no-brainer to me.Although I haven't been able to confirm the exact number of Lost episodes Roth will appear in, I imagine she'll be able to fulfill her commitment and still return to Rescue Me — that is, if there is a Rescue Me to return to. FX hasn't officially renewed the show for a fifth season. Assuming that it will be back, production will likely resume in early '08 — which would leave Roth plenty of time to squeeze in a juicy little arc on Lost.T... read more
  • "His Visit: Day Two Continued" | TV Show Recaps | 6/25/2007
Instead of dispelling the theory that John might be Jesus or some other heavenly entity, the events in the latest episode seemed to substantiate that possibility. Much to Dr. Smith's amazement, Shaun was healthy enough to go home with his family, sans Mitch, who took off with Cass after his argument with Cissy. Meanwhile, John recounted Shaun's recovery to Kai and Linc in his usual cryptic sentences, even though he was with them the whole time and had no way of knowing what happened. John politely informed Kai several times that he was still planning on boning her. When he announced the same to everybody at the Yost house, and added that he might have to "break her jaw first" for some reason, Butchie told him to make her see God. Kai took him to the surf shop and called his bluff on the boning by inviting him to feel her up, but "t--s don't ring a bell" with John, so she took him back to her trailer instead. Once there, it started to look like she might bone him after all, even thou... read more

OMG!Creepy new buttons! Grilled cheese sandwiches! A dude named Ben! What does it all mean?! I know — and so will you in less than 48 hours! I just finished watching the most anticipated 43 minutes of the TV season (aka Wednesday's Lost premiere) and I'm virtually speechless. From the fraktastic opening sequence to the chilling final moments, the four-star episode (penned by Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams) had me teetering on the edge of my swivel chair the entire time. It easily ranks as one of the best Lost eps — possibly the best — since the pilot. An amazing feat since it only features four series regulars! Send me all your questions at ask_ausiello@tvguide.com and I'll do my best to answer them (without pissing off ABC) in Wednesday's Ask Ausiello! OMG! In the meantime, many of you have written to me asking for help translating Orson's cryptic French message to that dead body on last night's Desperate Housewives. Luckily, I have an "in" downstairs at Au Bon Pain... read more
