Season 25, Episode 4 New York Philharmonic Opening Night Gala

Soprano Kiri Te Kanawa is the soloist as the New York Philharmonic opens its 159th season with a program of Mozart, Mendelssohn and Richard Strauss. Kanawa performs the Mozart arias “Ach, ich fuhl's” (from “The Magic Flute”) and “Vado, ma dove?” as well as the final scene from Strauss's “Arabella.” Orchestral selections include the overture to Mozart's “The Magic Flute,” Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 (“Italian”) and Strauss's “Till Eulenspiegel.” Kurt Masur conducts.
