One Life to Live star Kassie DePaiva (Blair) is letting her 10-year-old son James Quentin — aka JQ — do a guest stint on All My Children. "But I'm not pimping out my child here!" she assures us with a laugh. "There were just too many positives about this to say no."JQ, who was born deaf, can hear with the aid of cochlear implants. The three-day role (airing Sept. 20, 21 and 24) ties into a plot that has Kendall (Alicia Minshew) devastated because her little son Spike has lost his hearing in an accident. "Kendall has a conversation with Jason [JQ] backstage at Erica Kane's talk show and thinks he's just an average kid," reports DePaiva. "Later she's shocked to find out he’s deaf." Mom can't tout the implants highly enough: "Without them, JQ wouldn't be able to hear a bomb go off. With them, he's just a regular kid having a wonderful life. Unlike some ex-soap stars, Nathan Fillion is not ashamed of his daytime past. The in-demand actor is returning to ABC's One Life to Live to help celebrate its 10,000th episode. He hardly needs the gig: Fillion played Kate's husband on Lost last season, starred in the hit indie film Waitress and will join Desperate Housewives this fall as Susan's new gynecologist. "I guess a lot of actors don't like to admit they once did soaps, but it was important for me to go back to where I got my start," says Fillion, who played star-crossed lover Joey Buchanan from 1994 to 1997 on the ABC drama. "I will never forget what OLTL did for me personally and professionally." Per the Hollywood Reporter, Andre Braugher and Laurie Holden have been cast in The Mist, director Frank Darabont's adaptation of the Stephen King chiller about a small Maine town marauded by deadly creatures in the wake of a strange storm. (Wasn't that a Dean Koontz story, too?).... Harvey Keitel is in final talks to join The Ministers, a crime thriller about a female NYPD detective (One Life to Live alumna Florencia Lozano) out to avenge her father's murder at the hands of what sounds like a cult. Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella, Young and the Restless) will serve as host and producer of the 2006 ALMA Awards, which air June 5 on ABC. The awardsfest celebrates Latino artistic achievement in TV, film and music, as well as positive Latino images in Hollywood. This week TVGuide.com reported that Guiding Light is killing off Ross Marler, who has been MIA in Springfield since Jerry ver Dorn jumped to One Life to Live last fall. This classic character's off-screen death is a downer indeed, but there is an upside: Liz Keifer — who plays Ross' redheaded wife, Blake — gets sprung from story-line limbo.
"This opens the door for Blake to be a free agent again," Keifer tells TVGuide.com. "She has been paired with Ross for 14 years. We've been known as 'Bloss' for a long time! Jerry and I had so much fun playing together. He's such a professional; I learned so much from him.
