It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. That adage holds true in this Halloween episode when a party gets out of control and the paramedics are called in. While Tyler and Boone work through the carnage, Nancy and Glenn are spooked by an unusual call. It's never a dull day on the job for these folks.

Lie to Me's Kelli Williams: Meet the New Gillian Foster

Kelli Williams, Lie to Me

Lie to Me made some behind-the-scenes changes this season, translating into on-screen changes for Kelli Williams' character, Gillian Foster.

Shawn Ryan tells the truth about reinventing Lie to Me

The 39-year-old former star of The Practice says the addition of executive producer Shawn Ryan and a focus on character-based stories has helped the series, which premiered as a midseason replacement in January. Williams says she welcomes the changes, which have opened numerous possibilities for Foster's future.

"Foster was in a much heavier place at the end of last year with her marriage falling apart," Williams says. "This season there's a little bit more levity in the office. And since I'm no longer with my husband, there are a lot of places they can take Foster."

For one thing, the writers chose to make Foster less of a stickler... read more

Any Lost scoop? — Ari
MICKEY: You can add Katey Sagal's name to the list of Lost alums who have jetted off to Hawaii to shoot scenes for the final season. Call me a romantic, but I never believed that Locke's beloved Helen was actually dead; that whole cemetery scene reeked of fakery. Plus, we've all heard the rumors about Season 6 employing an alternate timeline (or, more intriguing, a "do-over" of Oceanic Flight 815), which means that even if Matthew Abaddon was telling the truth, Helen is still just as likely to be alive as, say, Charlie, Boone, Shannon, Eko or Juliet.

Shawn Ryan Tells the Truth About Reinventing Lie to Me

Lie to Me

Lie to Me's surprise midseason success last year has been attributed to its compelling leading man (Tim Roth) and its unconventional approach to the cop procedural.

So when Shawn Ryan (The Shield, The Unit) was brought in to co-executive-produce the show (with Samuel Baum, the show's creator) this season, he wanted to maintain those two elements.

Fall TV: Get scoop on all the new and returning shows

"There were a lot of things that worked well about the show last year, primarily Tim Roth," Ryan says. "He's one of the premier actors in the world. The show had a lot of strengths. I have just been trying to refine it, add a little adrenaline, add some deeper character work and dig really deep into who these characters really are."

Ryan's higher-octane imprint has already been felt. In the second-season premiere ... read more

How serious is Kitty's illness on Brothers & Sisters? Nora looked really upset in the promos. — Bev
ADAM: Nora has plenty of reason to sob: Kitty's ailment is of the life-threatening variety. But before anyone can focus on her grim prognosis, Kitty will have to break the news to Robert, who is in the midst of his own health-related crisis.

I can't wait to see how Katherine gets her revenge on Susan on Desperate Housewives. — Kelly
MICKEY: I'm with you, Kelly! The thought of a brooding, bilious Dana Delany makes my cold, black heart sing as well, but my mole tells me that Susan will not takes things lying down. Just as she did at her wedding, Susan will confront Katherine at every turn, which will be problematic when... read more

Trauma

Trauma
9/8c NBC
If you're into high-octane medical dramas, NBC has a new entry that spotlights paramedics. Perhaps in an homage to ER, which did not shy away from this sort of thing, Trauma blasts onto the screen with a helicopter crash that has a long-lasting personal effect on the show's main cast, which includes Cliff Curtis and Derek Luke. Earnest performances and a glossy look should draw viewers to this pedigreed production, but the accident-of-the-week story lines might get old fast — even with all the pyrotechnics.

Mega Buzz on CSI: Miami, Brothers & Sisters, 90210, Chuck & More

CSI: Miami's Eddie Cibrian, Brothers & Sisters' Rob Lowe and 90210's Jennie Garth

I am trying to get my hands on some scoops for next season of CSI: Miami. —  Jennifer
TIM:
How about some insight into new series regular Eddie Cibrian's arrival? We haven't heard much about him lately. Cibrian's Jesse Cardoza, a transfer from Los Angeles, gets taken hostage on his very first day. During the crisis, he performs a heroic deed that requires him to take off his shirt, as heroic deeds often do. But Cardoza's first day won't come until Season 8's second episode: The Sept. 21 season premiere will flash back to 1997, when we'll learn about his past connection to Horatio.

Is there any word on a Season 4 premiere for Brothers & Sisters—  Dave
MATT: Yes, ABC (finally) set a Sept. 27 return for the Walkers. Among the storylines you can watch for this fall: Kitty and Robert are still... read more

What's in store for Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson during the new season of SVU? — Crystal
MICKEY: Executive producer Neal Baer tells me the unofficial theme of Season 11 is "Benson and Stabler against the world." First all up in their grill is Wentworth Miller, who guest-stars as a cop with whom Benson will both clash... and make sexy eye contact! Next, Emmy winner Christine Lahti's ADA Sonya Paxton will be kickin' a-- and takin' names, which won't sit well for Stabler initially, and Benson ultimately.

I'm going crazy because there hasn't been any news on Criminal Minds. Please, tell me something about Hotch's future! — Francesca
