Mega Buzz on Bones, CSI: NY, Housewives, NCIS and More!

Emily Deschanel (Bones), Carmine Giovinazzo (CSI: NY) and Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives)

Every week, senior editors Matt Webb Mitovich, Mickey O'Connor and Tim Molloy satisfy your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com

Is Bones coming back this fall? — Byerley
MATT: Well of course it is, on Thursday, Sept. 17. And if only because I had Eddie McClintock (now starring on SyFy's Warehouse 13) dropping by for a video Q&A, I reached out to Bones boss Hart Hanson to see if Eddie's Special Agent Tim Sullivan might ever reenter Temp's life. "We've always thought he might return one day, dead or alive. I prefer alive, actually," Hanson told the Buzz. McClintock in turn told me, "I had such a great time with Emily [Deschanel] and David [Boreanaz], so for Hart to say that makes me happy. I would love to [do Bones again]." Hmm, W13 did just wrap production on Season 1....

Law & Order SVU: Stephanie March Is Returning

Stephanie March

Stephanie March will be returning to Law & Order: SVU this fall, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

While the length of her commitment has yet to be finalized, March's Alex Cabot will assume ADA duties for only part of the season, as producers have cast a wide net to search for other ADA types as well. NBC had no comment.

March left SVU in 2003. Cabot headlined ... read more

Mega Buzz on House, SVU, Reaper, True Blood and More!

Hugh Laurie (House), Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) and Bret Harrison (Reaper)

I have to wonder if the psych hospital in the House finale was also a hallucination.  It was pretty strange how the street and parking lots were empty.  And it looked like he was going to one of those hospitals from the 1940s. — RSmith
MATT: How Vanilla Sky! But nope, sources assure me that House's rehab stint is the real deal. And that hospital's more retro than you think. Greystone Park State Hospital (in Morristown, N.J.) made its debut in 1876 as the not-so-subtly named New Jersey State Lunatic Asylum. The hospital has tended to such patients as singer-songwriter Woody Guthrie, and until the Pentagon was built, it boasted the largest foundation (674,000 sq. feet) of any structure in the U.S. I'd try to book a TVGuide.com Q&A with the building, but fear I'd be stonewalled.

Now that Reiko Aylesworth has been dropped from ABC's The Forgotten, could SVU bring back her ADA character, Erica Alden, from Season 1? —Walt
MICKEY: It's an interesting idea, but a very well-informed source tells me that Aylesworth will ... read more

Mega Buzz on Grey's, Fringe, Supernatural, Army Wives and More!

Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy), Joshua Jackson (Fringe) and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural)

Every week, senior editors Matt Webb Mitovich, Mickey O'Connor and Tim Molloy satisfy your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

Any scoop to get us Mer-Der fans through the dog days of summer? Perhaps some "baby talk" about Grey's writing in Ellen Pompeo's pregnancy? — Hillary
MATT: Both Chyler Leigh and I are of the mind that Grey's Anatomy would be hard-pressed to accommodate Pompeo's pregnancy, if only because of the timing. "As far as I know they are not [writing it in]," Leigh told me, pointing out that by the time the ABC serial resumes production, "Ellen will be, like, seven months [along]." The only way I see it happening — and at least one source allows, "It could go either way" — is if Season 6 picks up five or six months after the recent finale. Such a jump would also allow poor George time to heal and look like recast Eddie Cibrian. (I kid!)

If Fox is serious about Fringe (and aren't we all), why is it forcing it to compete against CSI, Grey's Anatomy and The Office on Thursdays? — Anita
MICKEY: At first blush, moving Fringe to such a powerhouse night would appear to be a suicide mission. But Fox entertainment prez Kevin Reilly ... read more

Law & Order: SVU

According to Jim
8:30 pm/ET ABC
After eight seasons (which seemed to some like twice that many), this sitcom-that-gets-no-respect ends its run tonight with, appropriately enough, Jim's death. Heaven or hell? Jim is on trial before God (Lee Majors) and Satan (Erik Estrada). For Jim's sake, let's hope that there aren't any TV critics on the jury. Also helping usher in Jim's eternal reward (or torment) are guest stars Dan Aykroyd and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

Mariska Hargitay Says "Stunt" Led to Partially Collapsed Lung

Mariska Hargitay

Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay says she suffered the partially collapsed lung that sidelined her from the show by taking a fall during filming.

"I've been doing my own stunts on the show for 10 years," Hargitay told People. "I fell wrong, basically. I collapsed my lung doing a stunt."

Hargitay, 45, underwent surgery in January and returned to work on SVU shortly thereafter. She then checked back into the hospital on March 3 for discomfort related to the injury. Hargitay's rep said she underwent "routine tests," and the star reported back to the set on March 23.

Despite the scary couple of months, Hargitay said ... read more
