The Wednesday Playlist: Middle, Modern and Other Finales

On this final night of the official broadcast season, let's focus on the good times, shall we? Two of TV's finest comedies, ABC's underappreciated The Middle and the much-honored Modern Family, go out with a flourish, and perhaps a sniffle or two, as the Heck and Dunphy/Pritchett clans experience life-changing and/or affirming ceremonies likely to strike home for many viewers.read more

I can't believe I have to wait all summer for more Castle. Is there any way Beckett will turn down Castle's proposal? — Lauren
ADAM:
Depends on who you ask. Cast member Tamala Jones thinks that Beckett's desire for career advancement in Washington, D.C., could outweigh her feelings for Castle. "Beckett is a strong woman, and she's not going to forget who she is," she says. "So she may say no — or not right now." Susan Sullivan, who plays Castle's mother, has a different take. "What woman in her right mind would say no to him?" she says. "Therein would lie the problem: I may actually have to move out. Yikes!"

Video: SVU Stars Say the Finale Is One of the Darkest Episodes Yet

Law & Order: SVU fans, prepare yourselves for one of the darkest episodes yet.

On the Season 14 finale (Wednesday, May 22, 9/8c), the squad is trying to put away a sociopath (played by Pablo Schreiber) who is outsmarting them at every turn. By the end, Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is in a very precarious situation.

NBC's Fall 2013 Schedule: Revolution moves to Wednesdays, Parenthood to Thursdays

"The finale starts off in a very casual tone where we're all on a day off," Danny Pino told TVGuide.com at the NBC upfront red carpet. "Then it slowly gets darker and darker, and by the end of the episode, it's about as dark as the episodes have ever gotten [and] I don't know if [Amaro] can help Benson."

Also in the video, Kelli Giddish talks about the tough run her character has had more recently, but adds that she's happy that the arc gave her the opportunity to shoot some touching scenes with Ice T.
