Posted by LOCInumber1fan...Jeers to the Emmys! Vincent D’Onofrio should have been nominated for his Emmy-worthy performance in the “Untethered” episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The Emmys also snubbed him last year for “Endgame.” D’Onofrio is such a talented actor, and his portrayal of Detective Robert Goren is so worthy of an Emmy. Why do the Emmys overlook such extremely wonderful talent? Please note: Cheers & Jeers will be on vacation until... read more

  • Vincent D'Onofrio Puts Criminal Intent's Goren on the Couch | TV Guide Interviews & Features | 6/27/2008
Watching Vincent D'Onofrio's Det. Robert Goren on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Sundays at 9 pm/ET, USA) is a deliciously unsettling experience. We love the awkward mannerisms, the halting yet penetrating speech, the craned neck bend he performs when grilling suspects. He's brilliant, insightful, riveting. But, frankly, he seems a few sandwiches short of a picnic, if you know what we mean…. For example: In "Untethered," D'Onofrio's last episode before the writers' strike, Goren went ... read more

  • Ask Matt | 6/23/2008
Q: I am a 32-year-old Dick Wolf fan who has watched Law & Order in all of its incarnations since its inception. However, I was personally angered by the cheap publicity stunt that occurred during last Sunday's episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In case you missed it, in a blatant advertising cross-over promotion, Mary McCormack's character from In Plain Sight made a "special appearance" in the episode. The cross-over in and of itself I absolutely have no problem with. I also have little... read more

Law & Order: Criminal Intent's (Sundays at 9 pm/ET, USA) seventh season picks up six months after the December episode "Untethered," in which Det. Now the super-intense lawman is without his shield and not returning calls from his worried partner, Eames (Kathryn Erbe). "He's in a bar, kind of contemplating how he... read more

Premise: This second 'Law & Order' spin-off focuses on New York detectives known as the Major Case Squad, which handles high-profile and unusually difficult investigations. Its storytelling differs from the original series in that it presents the criminal's perspective as well as the deductive methods used by the cops. Starting with the 2005-06 season, Chris Noth and Annabella Sciorra alternated episodes with Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe as the lead detectives.
