Law & Order: Criminal Intent
New episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent won't air until summer 2009, according to a USA Network spokesperson, the second such delay in four months. The eighth season was initially scheduled to debut in November 2008, just three months after Season 7 aired. Then, in October, the netlet announced the season would shift to early 2009, presumably January, so they could air all 16 episodes in a row — the same reason they cite for this latest push-back.

24, CSI and Without a Trace

The new 24 trailer is totally awesome! I seriously can't wait for Season 7. I'm in urgent need of some scoop to satisfy this 24 craving of mine! — Jack
MATT: First off, how much do I doubt your name is actually Jack? Too coincidental. But yeah, the new trailer is very much awesome — especially when Bauer tells you-know-who, "I will kill you, and you'll stay dead this time." Speaking of resurrections, the trailer also suggests to me that someone who I thought I saw die in the prequel movie (coming to you Nov. 23) has somehow been granted a second life. Interesting.
Can we expect anything of substance regarding the rest of the Without a Trace cast beyond the Jack and Samantha storyline? — Jennifer
MICKEY: Boy, do I have good news for you, Jen. An upcoming episode will ...

What have you got for Grey's Anatomy that isn't about Mer and Der? — BethAnn
Matt: Mmmm, this vittle made it to my desk just before deadline, and goodness, it's tasty. What you may know: This week, Sloan counsels the "Mason-Dixon line"-averse Callie on the ways of love. What you don't know: He teaches by doing. What does that mean?!
Fringe is the most addictive new show on television! Give me some scoop on when Olivia and Peter will get all romantic. — Keith
Mickey: Well, Keith, I hate to disappoint you (perv), but it's going to be a while. This show is so not about sex right now. My Fringe mole tells me ...

SusanMatt: A near-death experience is going to set up a major health crisis for one of the male residents of Wisteria Lane. And thats about all I can say without Marc Cherry getting all angry like he did last spring when I spoiled the time-warp.What does Season 2 have in store for Gossip Girl's Jenny and Chuck? I heard they might get together. XOXO. SamanthaMickey: In the name of American Apparel, bite your tongue! Jenny will be too busy toiling away at a dress form anyway, as Season 2 fleshes out her fashion-related ambitions, which may or may not include Blair's mom. The Basshole, on the other hand, will avenge the loss of Victrola that "classy" burlesque club in which he wanted his dad to invest by turning his sights on an equally seedy Brooklyn venue, and with help from...

Question: I tuned in to last week's season finale of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, not knowing what to expect. As the first scene unfolded, I was apprehensive because it seemed obvious that Bobby's psycho nemesis Nicole Wallace was the woman who had left something for Bobby's brother at the cafeteria's counter. I knew what would happen next, and I feared the episode would be a rehash of past encounters between these antagonists. Boy, was I wrong! I certainly did not expect the turns the plot took, most especially the resolution. The creepy thing was that the killer's last statement, in which he voiced the reasoning behind his actions, actually sounded logical. I'm always excited to see John Glover on any show because he is fantastic, but he truly surpassed himself on that. Why doesn't Vincent D'Onofrio have an Emmy for playing Det. Bobby Goren? Granted, the character can be annoying at times, but D'Onofrio has hit it out of the park lately: last year when he went to the psychiatry ...

Question: Why did Chris Noth leave Law & Order: Criminal Intent? I know he's gone, but what happened?
Answer: According to Law & Order kingpin Dick Wolf in a recent USA Today article, Noth had expressed "frustration as an actor" on the show, as he had during his time on the original series. As Wolf explained: "A lot of actors get frustrated, and I can understand why. One of Jerry Orbach's phrases was, 'Dick, can't somebody die in my arms so I can get an Emmy nomination?'" Sometimes on these shows, the producers oust characters and actors for creative reasons, to shake the show up. Sometimes the actor wants to move on. In this case, it appears to have been something of a mutual decision, and maybe Noth saw an opportunity to explore new pastures given how much higher his profile was likely to become with the release of the Sex and the City movie ...

I felt so bad for Wentworth stuck in long-sleeved shirts in the Dallas sun! ChristineMatt: 'Tis true. As you'll see on Monday night, Scofield books a (truly grueling) date with a dermatologist so as to better safeguard his identity as well as afford him greater wardrobe options (including shirtlessness, the ladyfolk hope). "It was a laborious process putting that [fake tattoo] on," says a relieved Wentworth Miller. "I am looking forward to rolling my sleeves up!" (FYI: I'm one-and-a-half episodes into the new season, and he has yet to do that. Patience!)Is Mad Men planning a Thorn Birds scenario between Peggy and Father Gill?
