"Kissinger" Season 7, Episode 15

This week's episode kicked off with a lot of pieces to the puzzle of a hot shot stock analyst on Wall Street before the opening credits even rolled. He is shot dead in the park at night while walking his toddler home. Goren and Eames on the case; find him to have a relatively normal wealthy life wife who works as a VP, a nanny, toddler taking lessons for everything, and an affair on the side. Goren and Eames interview the last two people to see Skip in the park that same day Marla and her mother in-law Eleanor. And wow, want a pushy mother-in-law she was! Before they get a lead on who could have wanted Skip dead a second victim shows up dead in the same park also pushing a stroller. This time the victim was a woman but also a high profile worker on Wall Street; leading to the connection of maybe a little insider stock thing happening to connect the two murders. After talking to victim's boss, that theory did not seem to hold up. Throwing a wrench into the whole case, was now the evidence of a third victim who was really the first in what now was being seen as a hunter shootings like a Summer of Sam type as there were 3 victims in 2 weeks. The investigation of the newly discovered murder finally gives Goren and Eames the puzzle piece they were looking for that would connect all three victims a highly elite pre-school. It seems that the wait list for this choice pre-school for three year olds is turning out to be a hit list but for who? The director of the school is very helpful and seems unaware of the fact of all the coincidences and connections of the three victims. The director of Admissions on the other hand is short to give up any information which makes her suspicious. As the detectives start interviewing parents on the waitlist they find themselves back in contact with that bitter grandma Eleanor. While talking to her outside her house, a gun drops out of the diaper bag she is carrying. That's not good! I could tell there was something off about her in the beginning. All signs are pointing to the fact that Eleanor was killing parents off to move her grandson up the wait list after he failed to get accepted; which she blames on her 'white trash' daughter in law. The case takes a twist when it is revealed that Marla is the real killer and was just framing her mother-in-law the whole time. The show ends in a stressful standout with Marla holding a toddler class at the pre-school by gun point. Goren in his usual ways saves the day and stops her from killing herself or harming anyone else. Mentionable this week: Funny little scene when looking at Skip's work computer and Goren dismisses his co-worker with a wave and "you can go now;" also Eames's line of "I'll make sure you're his type" when implying Goren would be used as the fake set up. Overall a solid episode, not such a fresh concept for a storyline but it played out well. Let me know what your thoughts on tonight's episode. And thanks for bearing with me with the recaps. Sometimes they might not get posted until mid-week as the new air date on Sundays doesn't also work for me, but on those occasions I'll post a small blurb Monday mornings so you can comment away about the episode until the recap is up. Premise: This second 'Law & Order' spin-off focuses on New York detectives known as the Major Case Squad, which handles high-profile and unusually difficult investigations. Its storytelling differs from the original series in that it presents the criminal's perspective as well as the deductive methods used by the cops.
