The Voice's second season finale was Tuesday's top-rated show, helping NBC knock CBS off its usual victor's perch.
The two-hour finale, which crowned Jermaine Paul as the winner, earned 11.6 million viewers and a 4.3 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic — a 16 percent jump ...
The network fall lineups are starting to take shape. As execs lick their wounds, dust off their failures and prepare to try it again with a whole new crop of shows, this is the time of year when they tell themselves — and more importantly, try to convince advertisers — that next season will be different.
And sometimes it is. Witness ABC's 2004 turn-around year, when Lost and Desperate Housewives hit the air, or the 1994 season, when NBC was blessed with ER and Friends. But those game-changing years don't come along often. As we head into the mid-May network "upfront" presentations (when new series are unveiled to media buyers and bubble shows are fed their fates), here's a network-by-network guide on what to look out for.
Below you can find ABC's new fall schedule, along with a list of pilots the network has picked up to series for the 2012-13 season.

It's nail-biting time for fans of programs that haven't yet been picked up for next season. As network executives make their final decisions next month on which shows to renew and which ones to cancel, low ratings across the board aren't making their jobs any easier.

Question: What's the deal with ABC's treatment of Cougar Town? I know the ratings have been anemic, but bumping it twice for Dancing With the Stars recaps is cruel to the fans of Cougar Town, fans who waited nine months for new episodes. I waited patiently, thinking ABC had a good plan for the show and that the wait would be worth it, but instead, I'm kept waiting. They paired it with a show it doesn't match at a time slot that's not appropriate, but still, I thought: at least my show is back on, I'm hanging with the Cul-de-Sac Crew again, it'll be OK. Instead, two weeks in a row, I get the shaft. Whatever happened to the plan to pair it with Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 on Tuesdays?
