Question: What's the latest news on Las Vegas? Are the execs at NBC going to stop being stupid and actually end the show right?

Answer: It's not looking good. The sets continue to be brought down, and now the network is holding a "fire sale" for any props. Adding insult to injury, I hear Molly Simms' prosthetic belly was tossed in the "Under $10" bin.

Exclusive: Vegas Boss Declares, "We All Feel Bad"

Las Vegas by Mitchell Haaseth/NBC

You think you're upset that Las Vegas is ending its five-year run on a frakkin' cliff-hanger? Imagine how the show's creator, Gary Scott Thompson, feels. Actually, there's no need to imagine since I just hung up with him! Not surprisingly, he had lots to say about Vegas' unceremonious axing, the cast's reaction, and the possibility of a two-hour movie to tie up all the loose ends. How are you doing?Gary Scott Thompson: I've had better weeks. When did NBC inform you that the show was toast?Thompson: I got the official word last Wednesday. What do you think happened?Thompson: We were probably the first victim of the strike. The strike did us in. We had three more episodes to shoot for the season, which we didn't get done. And the "To be continued… " was actually supposed to be the first part of a two-parter. But that's as far as we got. We had four or five scripts in different stages that we didn't complete. So you fully expected to return after the strike to complete those three e... read more

Fans Refuse to Leave Las Vegas, Launch Rescue Plan

Molly Sims and Josh Duhamel in Las Vegas by Mitch Haddad/NBC Photo

You've invested in nuts, shopped online for football-shaped night lights. Now it's just a matter of swinging by Babies "R" Us and picking up some baby booties — if, that is, you want to join in the campaign to get a "real ending" to the recently canceled Las Vegas. The "Save Las Vegas 2008: Operation Baby Booties" campaign at LasVegas-TheSeries.com hopes to convince NBC to deal loyal viewers one final hand, in the form of wrap-up episodes addressing the non-series finale's many loose ends. (Danny and Delinda, for the uninitiated, were about to become parents just as the season finale went to black.) "We deserve more," declares the campaign organizers. "We deserve a real ending to the series we have followed for all these years. We aren't going to allow NBC to think they can dump us so easily." For the latest on the Las Vegas situation, see the Ausiello Report. Mike's got a Q&A that fans will definitely want to read. read more

Exclusive: NBC's Leaving Las Vegas

Molly Sims and Josh Duhamel in Las Vegas by Mitch Haddad/NBC Photo

Looks like Las Vegas is cashing in its chips after five years on the air.Sources confirm to me exclusively that NBC has opted not to renew the show for a sixth season. Consequently, last Friday's episode? Yep, that was the series finale. Hope it was satisfying!NBC had hoped this season's cast shake-up — Thomas Magnum replacing Sonny Corleone — might re-energize the show, but instead, it led to a double-digit ratings decline. Of course, the Friday time slot didn't help. Sad to see the Montecito close its doors? Eulogies are currently being accepted in the white box below. read more

NBC's Las Vegas: You Can Bet on New Scoop!

James Lesure and Camille Guaty in Las Vegas by Mitch Haddad/NBC Photo

The when: Fridays, 10 pm/ET, NBCWhy watch?: Mike and Piper (James Lesure and Camille Guaty) bond with each other in a way neither could have imagined — or, as it turns out, can remember — in tonight's new episode of Las Vegas (10 pm/ET, NBC). Dispatched to a shady bar to surreptitiously recruit a hot bartender for the Montecito, the surveillance chief and the comely concierge try to blend in by having a few drinks. And then a few more. "[Mike and Piper] end up getting drunk and don't really remember anything," says series creator and executive producer Gary Scott Thompson. "Then a wedding video turns up and they see what they actually did!" Sounds awkward, to say the least — but how will this inadvertent union affect Piper's relationship with Cooper? "The audience has been dying to know more about those characters," says Thompson. What's next: "[Tonight] starts a string of episodes [in which] we discover more information: If they had a relationship or didn't have one,... read more

What Emily in Marketing Is Watching

Six Feet Under courtesy HBO Home Video

As the writers' strike drags on, I seem to find no shortage of old and current shows to catch up on. If you really stop and think about it, there are hundreds of quality television series that have been produced over the years, and I don't care how much TV you watch, no one has time to catch them all! To start with, I have been mixing some oldies with some newbies and have also revisiting some of my personal old faves. My DVR is getting a workout and I am finally starting to utilize the video functionality of my iPod. Isn't technology great? Here are just a few of the shows I am watching and how I am consuming them. 1) Six Feet Under on NetflixWhile Netflixing a long-running series with many DVDs takes a considerable amount of time, it's a smaller investment than buying the DVDs, at least until I figure out if I'm going to stick with it. And then if I decide to buy, each season is only $19.99 right now on Amazon.com. 2) Weeds on iTunesI received a lot of iTunes gift cards for Chris... read more

Meet Las Vegas' Newest Lucky Gal: Camille Guaty

Camille Guaty, Las Vegas

Getting lucky is tough in Sin City, but Camille Guaty hit the jackpot as one of the newest regulars on NBC's Las Vegas (Fridays at 10 pm/ET). The actress clues us in on where her character's headed, her possible return to Prison Break and why she enjoyed dressing as a giant booger for Halloween. TVGuide.com: Your character, Piper, was introduced at the beginning of this season. Was it tough joining a show that's already in its fifth year? Guaty: Yeah, you always have your plusses and minuses, [but] this cast couldn't have made it easier for me. The first day, I was so incredibly sick that I don't think I could have been intimidated by anything but myself. I couldn't remember my lines, all I wanted to do was lie on the floor and have a blanket over me. I think we probably did that scene, like, 30 times. TVGuide read more

Heroes by Justin Lubin/NBC Photo

NBC Universal Video, Music & Product Development and Delivery Agent (or as I like to call the division, "NUVMPDDA") on Monday will launch an auction of props, wardrobe items and other collectibles from Peacock programs. Among the items going up for bid are three original Heroes paintings by artist Tim Sale, Office boss Michael Scott's Timex watch, Tim Riggins' Friday Night Lights jersey and a Josh Duhamel-autographed jacket (as seen on Las Vegas by those not forever distracted by Vanessa). A portion of the proceeds will benefit Journeyman Life the United Way and its partner organizations. read more
