Despite Failures, Networks Attempt More Series Reboots

ABC's Charlie's Angels redux didn't work, and NBC's new take on Wonder Woman never even made it to air. But just like the feature film world — where everything from Footloose to Conan the Barbarian has been recently updated — TV execs continue to mine the vaults in search of more classic titles to reboot.

Nikita's Lyndsy Fonseca: Yes, Someone Dies in the Finale

Over the course of its first season, Nikita has become a show about loss and difficult choices as much as espionage and violence. It's no surprise then that one of the principal characters meets a Division-related demise on Thursday's finale (9/8c on the CW).

"Yes, someone dies," Lyndsy Fonseca confirms to TVGuide.com. "Everything that happens in the finale is not just for the sake of killing people or for the sake of a good storyline. Stuff has been kind of brewing for a long time, and I think it's going to be really emotional."

Five Reasons Nikita Kicks Ass

When we last saw the reluctant assassin Nikita, she was a blonde. But the hair color of the lead actress — Peta Wilson then, Maggie Q now — isn't the only change you'll notice when you tune in to the CW's bold reimagining of La Femme Nikita, the cultish 1997—2001 USA Network series. Tonight's major TV event: the return of the addictively twisty The Vampire Diaries for its second season of "Bite me, Twilight" supernatural-romance angst. As a bonus, the newest version of the Nikita franchise immediately follows, and it's well worth your time, too. (I'll miss Supernatural on Thursdays, but it will help fill the void on Fridays now that Syfy is turning to wrestling) ... read more

Premise: Smart and stylish tales of a sexy crimefighter forced to work for an antiterrorist group after being framed for a killing. Based on a 1990 French film (which was remade in 1993 as `Point of No Return'), the series was a slick blend of good-looking actors and high-tech espionage, and developed a loyal following drawn to its ultracool, Gucci-ad look and the sultry Peta Wilson in the lead.
