Acts of courage by the kindhearted lion ruler of the jungle kingdom, Bongo Congo, and his loyal advisor, a skunk named Odie Cologne, as they try to protect the throne from power-hungry foes. The show's other segments revolved around a bungling bloodhound detective known as `The Hunter' and a time-traveling tortoise called `Tooter Turtle.' While on NBC, the title changed to `King Leonardo and His Short Subjects,' and was later renamed `The King and Odie' in syndication.
