“Brooklyn Bridge,” Burns' Oscar-nominated 1981 study of John A. Roebling's “great work of art” that spans New York City's East River, linking Brooklyn and Manhattan. Burns limns the suspension bridge's history and its significance in archival stills and footage, sketches and blueprints, and comments from Lewis Mumford, critic Paul Goldberger and Arthur Miller. Narrator: David McCullough (on whose 1972 book this documentary is based).
