When last we saw Tommy Gavin, he was bleeding out after Teddy shot him. You might not be surprised to learn that he survived, but it was touch-and-go, as you'll discover in tonight's Season 6 premiere. In fact, Tommy was clinically dead long enough to see his afterlife, and you can imagine where he was heading. Things on Earth aren't much better. For starters, no one will let him drink. And the shooting put the firehouse in the spotlight, and not in a good way. Incidentally, there'll be a Season 7 next year, with the series ending 10 years after 9/11.

Kathy Griffin and Joan Rivers
TV Guide Magazine threw a hot party last night at New York's trendy Gilt at the Palace Hotel to celebrate the publication of "The Power List," TV's 25 most influential people—and its 3000th issue.
There were Real Housewives dishing and dissing, White Collar's hunky Matt Bomer (one of TV Guide Magazine's new cover boys) wowing the crowd and Kathy Griffin proudly showing off her "date": Joan Rivers!
Here are a few tidbits we gathered from the attendees...
Autumn might not be able to salt water and Jason can't cook chicken, but, again, it's the risotto that will get you every time. So farewell, Mikey with the spiky hair. Ta-ta, too, to thin-skinned Andrew, who jumped before Gordo could push him. But then, as things ended last week, Gordo seemed to want to push all of them out the door (or maybe a helicopter). In this episode, dessert-challenged ladies' man Salvatore had better watch his step. It's the first of a string of two-hour episodes, and the USC Marching Band and Song Girls are waiting to be fed. Hope they're not too hungry.

Home Run Derby
8 pm/ET ESPN
All eyes are on the efficient and powerful swing of Cardinals star Albert Pujols as the All-Star break home-run leader heads a group of eight long-ball specialists in the shadow of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. The beloved reigning NL MVP has finished second and third previously in an event that often leaves a more-lasting memory than the actual All-Star Game, as happened last year when runner-up Josh Hamilton set a new single-round record of 28 dingers. Missouri native and 2006 champ Ryan Howard joins Prince Fielder and Adrian Gonzalez in looking to outlast Pujols.

How about that Ed! Gone one week, back the next, and got himself a rose! And how about that Wes! Finessed (for now) Jake's girlfriend-charge and got himself a rose! It might take "kiptynite" (er, kryptonite) to get that slick country boy outta here. So the two of them, plus Reid and Kiptyn, are off to Spain for flamenco and, perhaps, fantasy-suite frolicking with Jillian. Will the long hinted-at bedroom problem happen tonight? We'll see. The three survivors join Jillian in Hawaii next week.
