Premise: The Man in Black hosted this series from his own backyard at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Beginning at the height of his popularity (Cash sold more than six million records in 1969), the show featured Mother Maybelle Carter and her daughters (one of whom, June, Cash had married in 1968), and its notable guests included Bob Dylan and Ray Charles. It was retitled `Johnny Cash and Friends' for a brief summer run in 1976.
