MTV's parent company, Viacom, has filed legal documents to prevent Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino from trademarking catchphrases including "twinning" and "GTL" that he popularized on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
MTV is staying in business with Snooki & JWoww.
The Jersey Shore spin-off has been renewed for a second season, the network announced Friday at the Television Critics Association's fall TV previews. The series debuted in June to 2.4 million viewers, a big drop from Jersey Shore's Season 5 premiere, which drew 7.6 million viewers.

Snooki and JWoww
When Snooki & JWoww premiered, everyone expected the Jersey Shore spin-off to be as wild as the original. Yet five episodes into the series and there have been zero arrests, no hint of a brawl and nada when it comes to even the briefest nudity. What kind of reality show is this?! Have Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley actually been — dare I say? — domesticated?
After five seasons of Seaside mayhem, Snooki & JWoww is a startlingly tame turn for the reality stars that no one saw coming. Even Jenni's boyfriend Roger declared...

You could do worse than re-watching Leonard's date with Penny on The Big Bang Theory, or Person of Interest's Reese protecting Astro from last season's The X Factor or Cho's first meeting with Samaire Armstrong on The Mentalist. You could do far worse.
You could, for example, watch your brain cells atrophy by tuning into Fox's hardly-fit-for-cable combo of goofy new meat-market dating shows. (The Dating Game's Jim Lange, I miss you.) In Take Me Out (8/7c), which might as well be called Date Or No Date, it's the guy on display, trying to charm a "flirty 30" bevy of bimbos before they turn out the light on their podium, signaling their disinterest.
Now that the cast of Jersey Shore has finally grown up — Snooki's pregnant! The Situation isn't drinking! — it may be time to say goodbye.
The sixth season of the MTV reality series, which recently went back into production, will be...
The gorillas and guidettes are back in Seaside to start filming the sixth season of Jersey Shore. But this summer things are about to change — possibly not for the better.
