West Virginia Senator Jo Manchin has a bone to pick with MTV's new reality show Buckwild.
The series, which premieres next month, follows a group of twentysomethings living in a small West Virginia town and has been described as "The Jersey Shore of Appalachia." BuzzFeed obtained a letter the senator sent MTV requesting the network cancel the series.

Susanne Daniels, MTV's just-hired president of programming, joins a channel that has seen its primetime ratings slide 31 percent this season. New series like Teen Wolf and Awkward have high viewership and buzz, but MTV is about to lose its signature hit, Jersey Shore. Vinny Guadagnino is replacing the "tan" in "GTL" with "talk show." The Jersey Shore star is getting his own talk show/reality series on MTV, the network announced Tuesday.
Titled The Show with Vinny, the series will put a twist on the talk show format by having Guadagnino interview his guests at his Staten Island home.
