David James Elliott
JAG's David James Elliott has traded his buzzcut and pressed uniform for a flowing mane and a leather breastplate to star in Sci Fi's two-part movie event Knights of Bloodsteel (Sunday, April 19 and Monday, April 20, 9 pm/ET, Sci Fi). Elliott stars as freedom fighter John Serragoth in this tale about the continent of Mirabilis, where humans, goblins, elves and dwarves seek bloodsteel, an ore that imparts magical abilities to anyone who can draw it from the Earth. TVGuide.com spoke with Elliott about making the leap into the fantasy genre, training for sword-fighting scenes and talking up the idea of a JAG reunion.
TVGuide.com: Knights of Bloodsteel could not be more different from JAG. What drew you to the project?
David James Elliott: I'm a fan of the genre and I'm always looking for something my 6-year-old can watch. I thought it was right up his alley. He's always asking me to be in a movie, because he's a big movie watcher.

Bad-ass JAG alum David James Elliott will soon be fighting crime the old-fashioned way: With swords. Per the Reporter, Sci Fi Channel has just green lit a miniseries with the working title Mirabilis, which centers on four knights who must save their eponymous land.Elliott will, of course, play a knight who's wandering the countryside with vengeance on the brain after his family is slayed. And there's a love interest (obv!), in fellow knight Perfidia, to be played by the oh-so-gorgeous Natassia Malthe. Would you tune in to see Elliott on horseback, tearing through the fictional land, in body-hugging chain mail? This one sounds like a sure bet. Question: I was disappointed after JAG shut down after 10 years, but NCIS has been a very satisfying successor. I am wondering if the writers or producers have ever thought about bringing some of the old JAG characters into some of the future NCIS stories. Not necessarily as ongoing characters, as Gibbs has to remain Number 1, of course. It would be kind of interesting to catch a glimpse of Harm, Sarah, etc. in a hallway or on an elevator. Or Gunny could be in the area at Quantico or in D.C. Mikey's naval career may have brought him back as a junior officer in the fleet or at the Pentagon. Just a few thoughts; many old JAG viewers would get a thrill spotting these guys in the background!
Answer: You may have a career in fan fiction the way you're plotting these scenarios. I haven't heard of any plans for NCIS to go this route, but I agree it would be a nice reward for the fans of both shows and the sort of thing that would make for a fun sweeps stunt. They are all living in the sam ...

Finally, a crumb for David James Elliott's loyal fans. The JAG alum will star in Impact, a four-hour, $13 million miniseries about the disaster that ensues when a piece of a dwarf star lodges itself in the moon, triggering a series of anomalies on Earth, including exaggerated tides, sporadic weightlessness and (the horror!) cell-phone service interruption.Per the Reporter, Elliott will play an astrophysicist who with a help of a lady astronomer concluded that the moon is now on a collision course with Earth. What they can possibly do about that, I do not know. Call Bruce Willis? — MWM

Creator Brannon Braga reveals how the team would have fought to save the world — if his show had survived.
I admit that the way we ended Threshold was much too hasty. For a show that was about an alien race’s long-range plans to alter human DNA to make us more like them, we had to wrap up quickly. So in the last of the 12 episodes we shot — only eight of which aired in America — we had this dream sequence with Dr. Molly Caffrey (Carla Gugino). She was the one who had come up with the strategy to deal with an alien invasion of Earth. In the dream, the first alien-human child born comes to her and tells her, “Your plan will work and you will not live to see it.” With only one day to come up with something, that was our lame-ass conclusion.
Fans will get to see all 12 episodes in the DVD collection we’re releasing, but we had tons of other
