Episode Synopsis: The challenges faced by female firefighters in the New York City Fire Department are examined in director Bann Roy's film, narrated by Susan Sarandon. Included are profiles of Brenda Berkman, an FDNY captain who founded the United Women Firefighters organization; and Patricia Fitzpatrick, a retired firefighter who was injured on the job. Also: remarks by Battalion Chief Rochelle Jones and author Terry Golway (“So Others Might Live”).
