President Obama presents Carole King with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song at this White House fete, which features performances by the honoree as well as James Taylor, Billy Joel, Gloria Estefan, Trisha Yearwood, Emeli Sandé and Jesse McCartney. King cowrote such 1960s classics as "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "Up on the Roof" and "Pleasant Valley Sunday"; and, in 1971, released the iconic "Tapestry" album, which has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide in the years since.
