March 19, 2007: Deal with the Devil Season 1, Episode 9

So I still love this show and all, but has it kind of gone off the deep end, but...not in a good way? I think back to Flavor of Love, and I never remember feeling this horribly uncomfortable all of the time. I'll almost be relieved when it's all over. Well no - of course I'm still obsessed. I think I just miss New York bitch-fighting with other girls. That's when she really shined. And the guys don't like each other, but their fights are no where near as entertaining as a good Somethin'- Bootz brawl. Anyway, I think I need to address some incredibly uncomfortable moments from this episode, such as New York "stroking" her arm. OK, this actually was more hilarious than uncomfortable, but I had to include it. I just loved how she rubbed all the way from her wrist to her shoulder. New York's incredible horniness in general makes me laugh, cringe and want to vomit all at once nightcap with White Boy which brings me to another ridiculously uncomfortable moment: New York deciding to suck Tango's finger when he wiped champagne off her chin after eliminations. Was that just a reflex to her? When something gets close to her mouth, does she just naturally start sucking? Now that I think about it, that sounds about right for Miss New York. OK, and now the brothers...and I thought Tango was the girl! Why were they both crying so much? It was so uncomfortable! If you told me last episode that Real or Chance was going to cry in the next episode over anything, I never would have believed you. And they were never crying over New York, right? They seemed more moved by their valiant and noble struggle doing...what? Wow. This is not the sort of drama I am looking for in this show! And speaking of Chance having his mind elsewhere, I'm so confused about his little "deal with the devil." Was this real I mean, did the show know about it? A lot of times I think Sister Patterson is faking it, but I don't know. (And OK, "no one will know" because it's not like this is on tape or anything.) Was she really willing to drop $10,000 to determine the outcome of this reality show that probably won't have anything to do with who her daughter marries anyway? It just can't be real, (I seem to say that a lot with this show, huh?) but either way, I'm actually mad that Chance is still here. He only put the chain back on once he saw Sister Patterson wasn't being upfront with the cash she promised. Come on, New York - this is some serious denial. He took off the chain as a symbol of his rejection of Sister Patterson's offer? OK... Oh, and lest I forget - by far the most weird and uncomfortable moment of this show: Sister Patterson slowly kissing Chance on the mouth after bribing him to leave! Ew! Why did she do that? Not only was it A. White Boy-New York-make-out -level disgusting, B. she hates him, and C. it was totally non-consensual! Maybe it was part of her strategy to make Chance feel like he could trust her, or, more likely, it was some kiss of death curse type of thing. I'm just surprised he didn't start gargling and wiping his mouth right after she left. Oh wait. He kisses New York, so this wasn't so bad. show less
