I have mad love for New York. I had love for her from day one of Season 1 of
Flavor of Love, and I have almost as much love for Vh1 for giving her to me and to the rest of the world over and over again. So, before I get too emotional, let's get some of my complaints out of the way.
OK, so I know I'm not supposed to
like New York's mom ("Sister Patterson"
what?), but I think sometimes she almost ruins the show, and I would definitely enjoy it a lot more if she would leave. She's not crazy in a fun, entertaining way like New York is; she's just crazy. Even then, half of the time I think she's faking it. I thought she was faking it back on
Flavor of Love (remember when she had that "terminal illness"?). She's just too nuts and too obviously loves being on camera for me to think she's really like that. She acts like she's so disgusted with the show, but she'll never leave. And Chamo can just go right now. He's like the Miss Jay of this show. I don't know what else to say about him except that he's completely un-funny and doesn't add anything and that I miss Big Rick.
But now to business - those brilliantly cast contestants. Let's break it down so far, shall we? I think the front-runners right now are definitely Whiteboy, 12-Pack and Chance. Whiteboy, with his hilarious Chanel sunglasses, is in the lead for me; he won the Mangeant, after all. His grief, I hate to say though, was a little hard to take seriously with the towel over his head and New York "offering him her bosom." And with 12-Pack, maybe I'm still charmed from his bench-pressing while smoking a cigarette or the fact that he was
definitely drunk at eliminations, but he's not going anywhere if Vh1 knows what's good for its ratings. And Chance oh, future-"stallionaire" Chance. I could write page after page of love letters to that wonderful guy. He didn't get the airtime he deserves in this episode, but I can feel it coming.
I'd say Onix, Real, Rico and Tango are somewhere in the middle. It looks like Onix has the money, which mattered to New York for the first half of the episode at least, and New York definitely looks at him like he's the last guy on Earth. But he seems
way too normal for her to have any serious interest in him. I predict that New York will bone him and then toss him out. And I just hate Mr. Boston; his nervous twitches and weird voice make me cringe. The crazy thing is, though, New York actually seems to be
attracted to him! That lap dance and that "kiss" were
the most awkward and un-sexy things I have ever seen! I hope to
God I never have to see Mr. Boston's "bedroom skills." Oh, and Heat will be gone in one week.
Even though T-Weed and Pootie are (mercifully) gone, doesn't T-Weed seem like the male equivalent of Hottie from
Flavor of Love Season 1? Really, they're
exactly the same. They even talk like one another! And I just have to be missing something from the Pootie meltdown. So what exactly happened with him (whose "pride is everything," even though he's a "male-servant" and is appearing on a reality show)? Wasn't he trying to be humorous in his financial presentation? He had to be! And did paramedics really come when he "passed out" on the stairs? Was he talking about what he might do to himself when he said he was "afraid for his life"? So many unanswered questions. Vh1, you're holding out on us. Although, good call, I guess. I don't care enough about him to take away from my Chance-time.
