Preparing for this finale was almost too much for my emotions - I don't know what I'm going to do without it. At least I'll have
Charm School soon enough. As excited as I was for this finale, I didn't think it would surprise me. Oh, how wrong I was.
First of all, I'm so relieved that she chose Tango. I think she made a huge mistake sending Real home, but at least she made the better choice at this point. I love that she had sex with both of them before her final elimination. Vh1, just like with
Flavor of Love, set this up a little too perfectly: loading them up with champagne, giving them those giant suites, the "night cap" option.... Well, I'm certainly glad New York finally got some action, and I can understand that there are a few important things that she would need to test for herself before she could make an informed decision. I actually think, judging from New York's disheveled appearance and spacey and euphoric mood the next morning, that Tango's skills played a very big part in his winning the show. It didn't look like Chance blew her mind that much, which I could actually see as being the case with him.
Of course, seeing New York's lingerie (for both guys) made every emotional investment in this show more than worth it. I really can't decide which one was more hilarious. But either way, that girl had been cooped up too long, and I'm so happy (in true Flav fashion) that she at least got her money's worth for this finale. I mean, I felt so bad for her that she's going to have to pay for new eyelashes.
As far as Chance, as much as I love him, I never thought he was that into New York, or at least not nearly as into her as Tango was. But I will say that Chance seemed to be more genuinely upset after getting eliminated than I would have expected. And he said he'll never forget her ass, even though he's already smacked it and tapped it. Aw. Having Sister Patterson laugh in his face immediately afterward probably didn't help how he felt. Of course, the "blow a blunt" comment was completely wonderful.
I've also never seen Sister Patterson so ecstatic. I love how she rubbed her earlier offer in Chance's face, just to make him feel even more horrible at that moment - as if she was
ever going to give him any money. Didn't she seem a little
too content even before the elimination? Didn't she agree to get up and leave a little too readily? I get the feeling she probably knew who her daughter was going to pick; she didn't seem nervous at all. Or maybe she's just nuts.
And now, the proposal... and New York's face. I know in the past I've questioned how staged this show probably is, but I honestly believe New York had no idea Tango had that ring in his pocket. I certainly didn't. I can't believe he asked her to marry him! I thought he was buying her some crappy necklace. He really did love her! I was actually worried she was going to say no because of the complete shock in her eyes.... Oh, my god. Reunion show right now!
