Primetime was loaded with frothy, high-concept sitcoms, such as Gilligan's Island and I Dream of Jeannie, that became baby boomer favorites, while network news delivered grim images of the Vietnam War, social unrest, and assassinations.
Game show host Geoff Edwards, who emceed such shows as Jackpot! and Treasure Hunt, has died, The Associated Press reports. He was 83.
Don Mitchell, who co-starred in the original Ironside, died of natural causes on Dec. 8, the Los Angeles Times reports. He was 70.
