Beth O. Teases Her G4 Spot

Beth Ostrosky, Filter

On Saturday, June 3, at 7 pm/ET, the G4 cable network relaunches its long-running Filter series as a fast and funny countdown show. Now hosting the glammed-up and pop-culture-heavy production is model-actress Beth Ostrosky, whom TVGuide.com spoke to a few weeks ago about her glitzy new gig, her oversized appendages and her and boyfriend Howard Stern's most special of many passions. (Hint: It involves petting.) TVGuide.com: Does a part of you ever giggle when you s read more

Neil Patrick Harris Is One Cool Mother

Neil Patrick Harris, How I Met Your Mother

Nope, not gonna mention the kid doc by name for another 700 words or so. But boy, has Neil Patrick Harris accomplished the almost-impossible, creating a character on CBS' hit freshman laffer How I Met Your Mother (Mondays at 8:30 pm/ET) so fresh and different that we almost forget his original TV incarnation. (Of course, that little escapade with Harold & Kumar helped the cause.) Just how much does the actor love creating Barney trouble? Here's what he had to tell TVGuide.com. TVGuide.com: When I interviewed As the World Turns' Terri Colombino née Conn years ago, she mentioned that you were her prom date. What do you remember about that night?Neil Patrick Harris: She's married now? Oh, I remember lots. That was really fun. We had read more

Power-Shifts Rock Commander in Chief

Natasha Henstridge, Commander in Chief

Sure, all the headlines have been about the backstage power-shifts going on at ABC's Commander in Chief (Thursdays at 10 pm/ET), but there's a whopper of an on-screen power grab on the horizon. (Three words: Templeton in charge!) On the way to work yesterday, Natasha Henstridge, who plays the silver fox's chief of staff, Jayne Murray, spoke with TVGuide.com about Chief's never-boring term. TVGuide.com: The fact that you're on your way to the set kind of answers my first question about whether new show-runner Dee Johnson is working you.Natasha Henstr read more

Hannity Uncensored The Fox News anchor defends Stern, King and Bush

Sean Hannity

Most point-a-finger-in-your-face cable-news hosts wouldn't bother defending a competitor. But after CNN's Larry King took a beating in the press recently for seeming old and out of it, Fox News' Sean Hannity stood up for him on Hannity & Colmes. The conservative Hannity also seems to have a soft spot for Howard Stern (he got the first interview with the shock jock after CBS filed its lawsuit against him) and is no fan of the fine-happy FCC. So the Biz thought it might be an interesting time to check in with Hannity, who cohosts the No. 2-rated show in cable news, and see what's on his mind. TVGuide.com: So what made you feel compelled to support Larry King?Sean Hannity: It was sincere. He was under fire for just about everything — his health, he's frail, he's not doing well. You know what? For better or worse, he still has the consistently highest-rated show on that network. When I saw these attacks and I saw there was no respons read more

SIMON SAYS

Simon Cowell, who rather presciently predicted Carrie Underwood's American Idol win last season, now has cast his lot for this round's favorites. According to the New York Post, Cowell picked "the bald-headed kid" [Chris Daughtry], "the guy with the gray hair" [Taylor Hicks] and Kellie Pickler for the final three, during a call-in to Howard Stern's satellite-radio show. read more

STERN, ROTH SOUND OFF

While Howard Stern successor David Lee Roth rants on-air about producers' proposed "fixes" to his ratings-anemic radio show — "They want me to copy Howard [but] I told them I would quit if they will not let me... create something unique," he said on Wednesday — the King of All Media himself has booked an appearance on Monday's Late Show with David Letterman, where he undoubtedly will take aim at Les Moonves and the lawsuit CBS Radio filed against him last week. read more

SOCKED JOCK

Freedom of speech advocate Howard Stern may have to put his money where his mouth was, as CBS Radio has slapped the King of All Media with a massive lawsuit. Among other things, the 43-page complaint alleges that Stern used his final months of terrestrial-radio airtime to pimp his new Sirius Satellite gig, which in essence helped him reap a $220 million stock-option windfall once Sirius added enough new subscribers. "CBS Radio is going to have an uphill battle to win this," a former SEC attorney tells Variety. "CBS tried to take advantage of the publicity surrounding [Stern's] move, so it's going to be hard to argue they were... defrauded." One significant legal issue this suit will raise is whether strippers need to wear pasties when testifying in court. read more

STERN WARNING

Per the New York Post, Infinity Broadcasting biggie Les Moonves stands poised to slap Howard Stern with a $500 million lawsuit, claiming that the shock jock breached his contract with the terrestrial radio op by not properly divulging details of his new Sirius gig. Stern can take solace in two bits of "good" news: not only has he topped trade-mag Talkers' annual "Heavy Hundred" list of talk-radio hosts, but his successor in the New York market, David Lee Roth, has lost 90 percent of Stern's listeners age 18 to 34, aka the postpubescent crowd. Premise: The bawdy lunacy of the radio show hosted by the shock jock and his regular crew of sidekicks. Stern also unveiled a weekly late-night syndicated comedy program in August 1998 called `The Howard Stern Radio Show,' which included original comedy bits in addition to material used on his radio broadcasts. His first TV show originated on WWOR in New York and aired in syndication from 1990 to '92.
