April 17. 2007: Act Your Age Season 3, Episode 19

Hi everyone,I'm so sorry to have missed recapping this week's house but as Angel posted I was flat on my back reenacting my very own NyQuil commercial complete with nighttime sniffling, sneezing, coughing and aching. But I'm back at work now with a recap in hand and though it's a couple of days late hopefully you won't find it to be a dollar short. Thanks for keeping the discussion going in my absence.-Rhoda Seriously, what show am I watching? From the daycare-teacher-doing dad ( Erich Anderson) to the off-again Cameron-Chase pairing to the Wilson-Cuddy-House triangle I am on relationship overload. Add Wilson's should-I-shouldn't-I-does-she-doesn't-she back and forth and there is too much relationship stuff swirling around this show. I half expected Chase to drop a 'McSurly' on House. I know there are a lot of 'shippers' out there rooting for a Hameron sandwich or a Huddy huddle, but I'm telling you now, we need to keep that stuff in Seattle. In its own over the top manner House tries to remain grounded in some semblance of reality. With that in mind, what woman in their right mind would get seriously involved with Dr. House as he is? Let me remind you that he is, among other things, obnoxious, cranky, self-involved and has chemical dependency issues. Yes, he's still somewhat lovable and witty, but come on dating this guy is like asking for an enema. That's not to say that he can't be a catch. Clean him up and he's a brilliant, blue-eyed, five o'clock shadowed, motorcycle riding, property owning doctor, but in his current state, House ought to remain alone. I gotta say, right now I'm of the same mind concerning Cameron and Chase whose fling is over and she's pissed. Yes the flowers from Chase were sweet, but do we really want go down this road? Look, there's Chase wooing Cameron! Weeeee! Gag me. Plus, it makes Foreman look like a total loser being that he's the only one not involved in some sort of entanglement. And what a web the show is weaving with the top docs. Wilson's re-gifted theatre tickets from House gets him a date with Cuddy that House soon uses to test Wilson's feelings for Cuddy. But Wilson then uses House's ploy to suss out House's true interest in Cuddy. The whole thing tickled me but still I shudder at the possible outcome. A serious battle for Lisa's affections between these two friends would almost be as bad as the Tritter treatment we received earlier this year. Even the medical storyline this week was fraught with lurve. Lucy ( Bailee Madison), six years old and dealing with geriatric health issues is rushed into House's care and while she's suffering a stroke her brother ( Slade Pearce) falls in love with Cameron with a depth of emotion strong enough to launch him down a hallway to tackle and bite Chase. Ugh. Yes, yes, there was a medical explanation for his testosterone induced aggression but come already, we get it. There's something about Cameron that makes men want her. About now, you're probably wondering what the heck do I have against Cameron? Truth be told, I really don't dislike her completely. I just find her to be inconsistently self-righteous with little to justify such a state. As Chase has grown on me so too has my opinion of Cameron continued to solidify. With all the doctors wrapped up in each other's love lives, House almost missed solving Lucy's case. Get this! In true soap opera fashion Lucy's father's hidden romance with her teacher almost did Lucy in. This May-December romance required some topical cream for one to keep up with the other. Unfortunately, the hormones in said cream, when excreted through Dad's skin adversely affected his kids. So, it's not just me but the show itself bringing the message home. Too much romance on House is not a good thing. Seriously. Check out this week's new poll and let me know where you stand on the issue of House's love life. show less

Premise: He has little patience for patients, but misanthropic Gregory House is a brilliant diagnostician who probes life-and-death medical mysteries while 'CSI'-style graphics follow each disease's progression. 'X-Men' director Bryan Singer is one of the executive producers.
