Several critical issues endanger the grand opening; at the same time, Stephan focuses his attention on a 20-foot water tower that will supply the entire resort; and Rusty prepares the crucial river tours and jungle treks for the first guests.
A kitchen staff is hired by Stephan, who also explores the highly varied and bizarre produce of the Amazon; at the same time, Rusty and Juan scour the jungle, and everywhere else they can think of, for lodge furniture.
A nationwide gasoline strike stalls construction on the lodge, leading Jablonski and Juan the Piranha on a quest for fuel. Meanwhile, Johnson oversees the crew as they build a three-story tree house using traditional jungle methods.
Jablonski finds himself in desperate financial straits just as the river waters begin to rise and construction falls way behind schedule. With workers walking away because they haven't been paid, Juan the Piranha suggests bartering unusual goods for services.
Haste makes waste when Jablonski attempts to speed up construction, however the wood he purchases is unusable and creates chaos for the entire team. Luckily, Juan "the Piranha" steps in to help save the day in an unexpected way that involves chainsaws, ink strings and a giant tree.
Two longtime friends from New York embark on a business partnership in the premiere of this series, which follows their efforts to build a world-class luxury resort in the remote Peruvian Amazon rain forest.
