Premise: A nostalgic and intelligent ensemble drama about GIs adjusting to civilian life after World War II revolved around three diverse families---the Sloans, the Metcalfs and the Davises---in fictional River Run, Ohio. The series explored such serious issues as women's rights and racial equality, but there was always time for steamy relationships.
