The Hollywood Palace

1964, TV Show

A popular 1960s variety show telecast from the Hollywood Palace Theater (previously the El Capitan) in L.A. The show, a midseason replacement for Jerry Lewis's failed variety series, drew marquee (and widely diverse) talent, including Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Durante, Groucho Marx, Judy Garland, the Rolling Stones, Sid Caesar and Rudolf Nureyev. There was a different guest host each week, though Bing Crosby most frequently did the honors (and usually hosted the Christmas episode).
