Question: Have you heard anything regarding BBC America becoming one of the networks joining iTunes? They have wonderful programming that so many people cannot access because their cable providers don't offer it. I know they would make a ton of revenue if they allowed their shows to be downloaded there. I need Torchwood and Hex! Am I doomed to buy them on DVD forever?
Answer: I know it's very spoiling to expect everything to be available for downloading and/or streaming, but sometimes it's a little more complicated to secure rights to all of this programming, and that appears to be the case with some of these U.K.-to-U.S. imports, especially where music rights are concerned. BBC America has made some of its shows available for streaming on its website or for viewing On Demand, but it's very much case by case, and the way it has been explained to me is that the channel is "still in the early stages of [its] digital plans in the U.S." ...

DVD release dates have been announced for Rescue Me: The Complete Third Season, BBC America's Hex: The Complete First Season and Seinfeld: Season 8, all hitting stores June 5. Silver Spoons, meanwhile, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ricker's first train ride with a three-disc Season 1 set to street on June 19.
