CBS Midseason Plan Targets Flashpoint for Fridays

Leaving only ABC and the CW to show their hands, CBS unveiled its laundry list of midseason tweaks on Tuesday, and outside of naming an "official" replacement for The Ex List, there's little to raise an eyebrow at. In fact, only four days of the week — the Saturday wasteland included — are touched.

Eleventh Hour Clocks in with Additional Script Orders

Eleventh Hour stars Rufus Sewell as a biophysicist who investigates unusual scientific happenings.

CBS has greenlit five additional scripts for Jerry Bruckheimer's Eleventh Hour, bringing the drama's freshman run to 18 total episodes.

To date, Eleventh Hour has averaged a decent 12 million viewers in its après-CSI berth. That said, the thinking is that CBS came up shy of a full-season pick-up because ... read more

Harry Hamlin Sails into Harper's Island

Harry Hamlin by Michael Caulfield/WireImage.com

Harry Hamlin has sailed into a role on CBS' upcoming Harper's Island, a horror drama series expected to air midseason. The series will focus on a group of friends who are terrorized on an island off the Seattle coast, where they've met for a destination wedding. Hamlin will play the gregarious, womanizing uncle of the groom (Ugly Betty's Christopher Gorham), says the Reporter. (The role was played by Bill Pullman in the "drama presentation" originally shown at TCA, but you always had a feeling that was done as a favor to someone.)In addition to showing off his footwork on a season of Dancing with the Stars, Hamlin — an original L.A. Lawyer — had a run on Veronica Mars. — Anna DimondRelated:• Supernatural Beauty Gets Island Wedding• Ugly Betty's Henry Moves to Harper's Island read more

Mega Buzz on Housewives, Gossip Girl, Heroes & More!

Dana Delany by Randee St. Nicholas/ABC, Ed Westwick by Andrew Eccles/The CW and Ali Larter by Paul Drinkwater/NBC

Senior editors Matt Mitovich and Mickey O'Connor answer your questions! E-mail us your own scoopy needs. The Housewives premiere is still weeks away! Tide me over with some scoop? – SusanMatt: A near-death experience is going to set up a major health crisis for one of the male residents of Wisteria Lane. And that’s about all I can say without Marc Cherry getting all angry like he did last spring when I spoiled the time-warp.What does Season 2 have in store for Gossip Girl's Jenny and Chuck? I heard they might get together. XOXO. — SamanthaMickey: In the name of American Apparel, bite your tongue! Jenny will be too busy toiling away at a dress form anyway, as Season 2 fleshes out her fashion-related ambitions, which may or may not include Blair's mom. The Basshole, on the other hand, will avenge the loss of Victrola — that "classy" burlesque club in which he wanted his dad to invest — by turning his sights on an equally seedy Brooklyn venue, and with help from... read more

Ugly Betty's Henry Moves to Harper's Island

Christopher Gorham by Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage.com

Christopher Gorham, who weeks ago declined to move to the island of Manhattan, is A-OK with calling Harper's Island home. Per the Reporter, Ugly Betty's Henry has been tapped to play another Henry — this time the groom-to-be, versus a prospective fiancé — on CBS' midseason drama about a group of friends who venture to an isle off of Seattle. Their purpose? A destination wedding. The actual events that unfold, though, are akin to a serialized horror thriller. I had the chance to screen an early "drama presentation" of Harper's Island, and dang if it didn't float my boat, so to speak. Gorham apparently replaces whoever that was playing the fiancé in the original pilot. The Gorham news is but the latest wrinkle in Betty's love life. Weeks ago, an ABC rep told me viewers "have not seen the last of Henry," though that may just mean he's in the season premiere to wrap up the marriage proposal story. Freddy Rodriguez right now is slated for just one more appearance as G... read more
