Premise: Surgical residents at a Seattle teaching hospital hone their bedside manners on and off the job in this medical drama, which parlayed a cushy Sunday time slot (post-'Desperate Housewives') and a hefty dollop of sex and romance into almost-instant success. Indeed, in the opener, intern Meredith Grey sleeps with attending Derek ('McDreamy') Shepherd the night before she starts work at Seattle Grace. The next day she discovers that he's her boss.
