Grey's Anatomy Recap: "Migration" Season 8, Episode 23

So that happened. And we can't even begin to digest that. So we won't. And we'll act like everything is going to be fine — even though we know there's a death coming. Instead, we'll think of happy things from this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, even though most of it was spent figuring out which hospitals each of the doctors were going to leave Seattle Grace for. Here are our "Happy Moments":

1. Alex is the big man on campus: After struggling for years as an intern and resident, Hopkins is fighting over him with Seattle Grace. Naturally, Webber encourages Alex to use this to his advantage and ask the world of both Seattle and Hopkins. (We'll just ignore that Arizona screamed at him in the end and kicked him off the trip to Boise.)

2. Cristina and Owen, together again! After getting drunk with the other residents, she returns to the firehouse and crawls into bed with Owen, only to quickly leave again. Still, Cristina began to realize what Owen means to her, finally coming to the conclusion that Owen is her person, not Meredith. The pair share a sweet kiss and an on-call room romp. (We'll just ignore that the romp was followed by her telling him she's leaving Seattle.)

3. Bailey and Ben, sitting in a tree: Ben grows increasingly frustrated that Bailey has no time for him — whether it be for a cute day-off brunch or a quick hospital lunch. In the middle of a surgery, after he continues to nag her about them having no time to even do the crossword puzzle, she reads off the clues for all to hear, getting to the one Ben had specially made for her: "14 letters: Will you marry me?" Aww! (We'll just ignore that when she later asks him to propose again, he reveals he got accepted as a surgical intern at UCLA.)

4. Arizona's rock has broken: Arizona avoids her brother's best friend Nick at the hospital, upset that he took so long to finally get checked out at the hospital. After Callie confronts her, Arizona gets Nick to agree to the surgery. (We'll ignore that the surgery didn't work, and Nick will die soon. We'll also ignore that blatant foreshadowing of Arizona crying to Callie and telling her never to leave.)

5. April's a lemon: After failing her boards, every single hospital has rejected her. Where's the happy moment here? Cristina faking April's voice to answer each of her rejection calls. Seriously, if Sandra Oh doesn't get an Emmy nom this year, the voters are crazy! (We'll just ignore the fact that because Alex asked for more money, Seattle Grace won't cough up any to hire her. We'll also ignore the fact that she thought Jackson was just going to kiss her out of pity and stormed off. Suicide watch or Worst Case Scenario?)

6. Field trip! Cristina, Meredith, Derek, Mark, Lexie and Arizona (who made the last-minute switch with Alex) hopped on a private jet to Boise, Idaho to help a hospital with conjoined twins. Yay, vacation! (We will completely ignore the fact that the plane crashed, and the promos said that at some point Derek was ejected from the plane while still in the air. We're in denial. It didn't happen. We'll also ignore the fact that just before they left, both Cris and Mer said they were leaving Seattle and Mark still hadn't made up his mind about Lexie — as if we didn't have enough to worry about!)

The big question: Who do you think will die in the season finale of Grey's Anatomy? Hit the comments with your thoughts!
