Grey's Anatomy Episode Recap: "Poker Face" Season 8, Episode 6

The doctors of Seattle Grace have put the sex back in Grey's Anatomy. Once a hospital with seemingly daily romps in on-call rooms, now the doctors are taking their extra-curricular activities to board rooms... and cell phones? Yes, this week's Grey's featured a whole lot of sexting between Cristina and Owen, but they weren't the only ones getting it on. Let's check out the top moments from this week's episode, which featured the residents being ever so cautious after seeing one too many bad outcomes:

1. Meredith's baby duty: Because she can no longer be on Derek's service, she's been making the rounds on different services. This week, she's on baby-delivery duty. But when one of her patients has a brain tumor, she enlists Lexie to get Derek to consult and then do the surgery. But she keeps after Lexie so much that she actually interrupts one of her showers. Good (or bad?) thing Jackson wasn't in there! All's well that ends well when Derek successfully removes the tumor and celebrates with a romp in the sack with Mer.

2. Cristina's sexting: Instead of talking about any of their actual problems, Cristina and Owen have taken to sexting to fill the hours between their near-secret meetings to actually do the deed. (Poor former Chief keeps ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time.) The constant texts begin to grate on Callie, whose service Cristina is on, and she threatens to have a nurse read their naughty messages out loud. In the end, Owen decides they shouldn't have sex in the hospital because he's now the new Chief and needs to act responsibly. Will they now have to face their problems? Nope, they're going home to have — you guessed it — sex.

3. Callie's frustrations: Callie actually misses the days when Arizona and Mark were at each other's throats. Now that Jackson is doing all of Mark's surgeries, he has taken up cooking for a hobby, bringing all the food to Callie and Arizona's apartment. He's even formed quite a bond with Arizona, much to Callie's chagrin. She just needs sex. Callie decides to come home with a box of pizza and kick Mark out so she and Arizona can... well, you know.

4. Alex's fears: Because he keeps getting bad outcomes on surgeries, he decides to get on an "easy service" with Teddy's ortho rounds. His latest patient, however, refuses to get open heart surgery because he doesn't want the scar. When the patient insists on a more dangerous procedure, Alex is weary and ends up being booted off the case. You know what he needs? Sex! (It's a good thing Charlie's Angels was canceled. Maybe now Rachael Taylor can return as Lucy and give him some. What? You know it's going to happen.)

5. April's stretched thin: Not only is she working on Bailey's clinical trial, but she's already had two bad outcomes and things aren't getting any easier. Overloaded with work, she attempts to get Alex to cover for her, but he says that this is the exact reason she's not good enough to be Chief Resident. Finally asserting her power — and using a deeper, more authoritative voice — she gets Meredith to do her grunt work. Her reign continues when she divvies up the residents' upcoming jobs, including putting Alex on night shifts for a week. She, on the other hand, is off to get drunk and flirt with boys... and maybe one day have sex with one of them.

6. The Chief's meddling: Bailey has officially locked him out of the clinical trial, so he's desperate for information. He enlists Meredith's help and even meets with her in dark rooms to get the scoop. Call her Deep Throat? (What? It still works with the sex theme.)

What did you think of this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy? Will Cristina and Owen ever face their problems? Are you hoping Derek finally caves and lets Meredith back on his service? Hit the comments with your thoughts.
