Episode Recap: Barely Legal Season 1, Episode 21

This episode made happy for so many reasons. Happy I decided not to go to grad school, happy I don't have Ashleigh's spending problems and oh so happy that I'm legal (and gave away my own fake ID). With a trip to the Myrtle Beach (where Satan apparently lives, just ask Dale) just around the corner and the Kappa Tau pledges have begun spring training. After handing out fake IDs, Cappie, Beaver and the crew run bouncer drills to get the pledges in top clubbing shape. Rusty studies his new identity: music-writing, Asia traveling Chad Stewart. It turns out Chad has quite a fan base, or at least one major fan at a local bar. Rusty rattles off stories and by the end of the night gets himself invited to a party. Casey is need of vacation especially now that she's preparing for the LSAT. After one stressful prep class, she goes to Evan for help. Evan's study tips actually paid off because the second time around, Casey raised her score by 15 points! Apparently "Thanks for helping me rise my score on a practice test" translates into "Hey Evan even though we're just friends let's hug for just a little longer than friends do and go out to dinner." Ashleigh on the other hand, won't be able to head south if she doesn't get some cash fast. Her problems seemed to be solved when she gets a new credit card. Tabs at the bar, new shoes and wraps for the beach all add up and before she knows it, Ashleigh has spent her limit. And when she tries to work out a payment plan, the credit card company raises her limit. Why do I have a feeling that this is going to come back to haunt Ashleigh in the future?Over dinner, Evan tells Casey he scored her an interview with the Dean of Admissions of Harvard Law School. However, after checking out the application, Casey isn't so sure that law is really the way to go. Perhaps Casey was a bit distracted because she found out Evan paid Shane to stay away from her and that he's still in love with her. Nice going Frannie, by the way. Pretending to care about Casey so a drunk Ashleigh would confront Shane, looks like Frannie hasn't completely changed. Unfortunately for Casey realizing that law was Evan's path and not her own didn't happen until the Harvard interview. Oops!Rusty brings Dale along to the cool party he was invited to (sans the 12-year-old jean jacket) only to find out "Chad" was invited to sing at a wedding. Rusty is not smooth, Rusty cannot sing. So it's pretty safe to say that when "Chad" is asked to sing things don't go so well. Rusty freezes up and luckily the bride and groom get into a fight, giving him enough time to escape. Let this be a lesson kids, fake IDs are risky and can get you into major trouble! (Did that sound genuine and responsible?)After a botched interview, Casey vents to Rusty and they have another supercute sibling moment. Awwww.So next week is the season finale (woooo spring break!), any predications? Will something happen between Casey and Cappie? Will Rusty get into a club after intense training? Are the pledges on this show ever going to be initiated? show less
