A Life in the Theatre

David Mamet's "A Life in the Theatre" follows two repertory-company players: an aging sophisticate named Robert (Ellis Rabb) and his ambitious young colleague John (Peter Evans). Backstage, the pair banter, quarrel, joke and philosophize; onstage, they make their way through an odd assortment of plays. The play was first staged off-Broadway in 1977.
