Something had to be done. We're just glad it was done by Jennifer Hudson.
Last night, the Grammy Awards were faced with the daunting task of memorializing Whitney Houston slightly less than 24 hours after her sudden, tragic death. Would it be testimonials? A montage? A musical tribute? Early word out of ...
The annual celebration of music's brightest stars turned into an emotional tribute for one of the most iconic performers of all time, after Whitney Houston suddenly passed away on February 11, a day before the Grammy Awards.
"This is my 11th show, and I would say this is the most emotional Grammys that I've ever personally ...
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has overhauled the Grammy Awards, reducing the number of categories by 31.
In its first overhaul in its 53-year history, NARAS trimmed the categories from 109 to 78. (Guess that makes our win last year for Best Contemporary Latin Tropical Jazz Album worthless.) The silver lining: Work that would've fallen under eradicated categories will be submitted elsewhere.

Most of the streamlining will be a result of eliminating male and female vocal categories in the genre fields. Men and women will now compete against ...
Christina Aguilera has been added to the coaching ranks on NBC's upcoming show The Voice, the network announced Wednesday.
"Her journey as an artist, who started so young in the music business, will be an inspiration to the talent she coaches on the show," network executive Paul Telegdy said in a statement.
Because social and personal (Happy Valentine's Day!) obligations kept me away from the TV more than usual this week, I'm going to boil down this week's wrap-up to my version of a "Hot Topics" list, with a few odds and ends thrown in for fun.
OF IBM AND MEN: Man your buzzer if you really thought either Ken Jennings or Brad Rutter could topple supercomputer Watson on Jeopardy! in that fascinating three-part exhibition stunt. I got more caught up in seeing what Watson didn't know or how it was misinterpreting clues — including the first Final Jeopardy, which somehow led Watson to...

Our top moments of the week:
11. Second Most Egg-cellent Entrance: Mocking Lady Gaga's Grammys egg arrival, Conan O'Brien opens his talk show by busting out of an Egg Beaters carton. "That's my entrance with zero cholesterol," he says. Now, dare he wear a condom-inspired outfit as well?
10. Not a Fame Monster Award: But not everyone goes gaga for Lady Gaga. On 60 Minutes, the pop star tries to show...
Jennifer Lopez is in demand in 2011. Not only did she join the American Idol judging panel for the show's 10th season, but she and husband Marc Anthony received a surprise invitation to the Super Bowl, complete with Secret Service.
That's right, President Obama invited the couple to watch the Packers take on the Steelers. Lopez and Anthony accepted the invitation and revealed on the Grammys red carpet Sunday what the First Family likes to eat for the Big Game.
LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian won't be celebrating Valentine's Day with an intimate candlelit dinner.
The newly engaged couple revealed at the Grammys Sunday night that they'll be eating pizza with a couple of very special guests. And although TV Guide Network's Chris Harrison tried to learn more details about their upcoming nuptials, Rimes told him, "You'll be the last to know."
Kathy Griffin may be known for her love of profanity, but she kept it pretty clean on the Grammys red carpet on Sunday. Her only gripe: The Bachelor should do better background checks!

"Do you guys even do a Google search on these people?" she asked Bachelor host Chris Harrison. "Honestly, my 90-year-old mother with a box of wine and steno pad could've found out more information about this guy."
As for the contestants...
