Premise: The 51st annual event, held at the Staples Center in L.A. Lil Wayne leads all nominees with eight, followed by Coldplay with seven. Both perform on the show, along with U2, Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Kenny Chesney, the Jonas Brothers, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Jennifer Hudson, Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood. Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and T.I. perform "Swagga Like Us."
