Story about two Chicago families, one white and one black, that deftly bypasses race as a theme. It was a brave undertaking on the part of NBC to avoid stereotypes by painting both the Whitmores and the Marshalls as upper-class messes rather than race-related rivals, as was the case with many other soaps at the time. But dull characters and uninspired plots did this one in after only two years.
