Antonio Sabato Jr. on Celebrity Circus
Antonio Sabato Jr. has quite the juggling act going on these days, balancing his derring-do as a Celebrity Circus performer (Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET, on NBC) with his return to Port Charles by way of SOAPnet's General Hospital: Night Shift. Sabato shared with us a look inside the two gigs, one utterly foreign and frightful, the other familiar and fun.
TVGuide.com: Obviously there are a lot of reasons why to do Celebrity Circus, and reasons why not. How did you arrive at your own decision to give it a shot? &nb
Tristan Rogers by Albert L. Ortega/WireImage.com
General Hospital icon Tristan Rogers absent from the show since 2006 will headline the second season of SOAPnet's General Hospital: Night Shift as Robert Scorpio when the series returns next month. Dont expect his usual bad-boy superspy antics, however. Scorpio will arrive with "a major health issue thatll have him grappling with his mortality," says a rep for the GH spin-off.Robert's daughter, Robin (Kimberly McCullough), will be his physician. Sounds pretty damn dire, but Rogers is thrilled. "Thisll be a real departure wherever it's headed," he says. "Robert and Robin will finally get a chance to connect as adults. The last time he was in town he was too busy battling a killer virus, so he's never even dealt with her being HIV-positive." But hes got way more than that to deal with now: Robin is pregnant. SOAPnet has picked up General Hospital: Night Shift for a second season to launch in July, after the General Hospital spin-off scored record ratings for the cabler in its first year.As for changes, Season 2 will not only be shot in high definition, it will feature continuity between Night Shift and the ABC mothership. (Good news for those who remember how the first time around, Jason was imprisoned during the "day" yet roaming about/playing hero at "night.") Characters from Night Shift's first season will return, along with new players and "legacy characters" from ABC's long-running daytime drama.Even more siginificant than the series attracting record numbers of viewers to SOAPnet was its No. 5 ranking among women 18-49 in all of basic cable for its timeslot, given the network's limited distribution. OK, there've been a ton of releases lately that we need to discuss, because quite honestly, they are a hoot. Finola Hughes, How Do I Look?
This Saturday at 9 pm/ET, Style Network's How Do I Look? marks 100 episodes by delivering some of its most heartwarming and life-changing makeovers to date. Visiting New Orleans, host Finola Hughes and her crew turn their attention to a trio of school teachers who long to have their selves "rebuilt" as their hurricane-torn city rises from the rubble. TVGuide.com invited Hughes to share a look at the very special episode.
TVGuide.com: First of all, happy 100th episode....Hughes: Thank you very much! Thank you.
TVGuide.com: How was the New Orleans idea presented to you? Hughes: The producers wanted to find something that was really worthy, where we could give back to someone. So we approached the schools in New Orleans and asked for teachers who they thought had a really great story. T
Finola Hughes and Rick Springfield by Adam Larkey/ABC
This Friday on General Hospital, Rick Springfield for the first time in his two stints with the ABC sudser will sing on screen, as doc Noah Drake tries to pass himself off as rocker doppelgänger Eli Love. The concert caps a storyline in which Noah and former superspy Anna Devane have grown rather... chummy, yet fans hungry for anything more will have to bide their time. "I really enjoyed working with Rick. He's a lot of fun, a nice, relaxed chilled guy," Finola Hughes, whose latest run as Anna wraps with the concert, tells TVGuide.com. "But we still have a lot of episodes of How Do I Look? [the Style Network show Hughes hosts] to do before the end of the year, and I'm still making jewelry for QVC, which takes up a great deal of my time." Interestingly, it was Hughes' and Springfield's respectively busy calendars that threw them together for this short-term tale. "I feel thats why it works so well with Rick and I, because he's flying around in and out of tow...

SOAPnet's first original scripted drama series, General Hospital: Night Shift, might seem a lock for a Season 2 renewal, seeing as how it led the cabler to record viewership in July and is besting the mothership's reruns by drawing some 915,000 viewers a week. Alas, the spin-off's very nature General Hospital stars such as Steve Burton and Kimberly McCullough performing double-duty in standalone "after hours" storylines is the biggest hurdle to its longevity, especially with GH's "light" summer production schedule nearing its end. "We didn't know what kind of physical and creative toll it would take on the GH team," ABC Daytime president Brian Frons tells TV Week. "While the GH numbers have been great, people are getting tired. So I have to figure out how to keep the energy in both programs."Shouldn't all that coffee from Sonny's highly lucrative and highly legal beans biz be able to keep the folks awake?
