Premise: Jim Davis's lovably lazy comic-strip cat became a staple of Saturday mornings on CBS after appearing in several Emmy-winning prime-time animated specials. The wisecracking, lasagna-loving feline is joined in his cartoon adventures by his good-natured owner, Jon, and Jon's excitable dog, Odie. Each episode also features another Davis creation, `U.S. Acres,' about barnyard animals. `Garfield and Friends' started out as a half-hour show, but expanded to an hour in the second season.
