Renowned violinist Gil Shaham accompanies 10-year-old violinist Alice Ivy-Pemberton on the "Allegro" movement from Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor. Ivy-Pemberton also performs a selection from Bartók's Rhapsody No. 1 (Folk Dances) for Violin and Piano with host Christopher O'Riley. Then, 17-year old pianist Ji-Yong Kim performs Robert Schumann's "Widmung."
Seventeen-year-old pianist Ronald Joseph, who hails from the New Orleans area, performs the second, "Mardi Gras" movement from Richard Danielpour's "The Enchanted Garden"; 13-year-old jazz singer Nikki Yanofsky sings "Old McDonald Had a Farm"; 17-year-old violinist Allyson Tomsky performs the first, Allegro ben ritmato e deciso movement from Gershwin's Three Preludes accompanied by host Christopher O'Riley.
The first episode of the series, which features memorable "From the Top at Carnegie Hall" episodes, highlights 16-year-old marimba player Joshua Jones; 12-year-old violinist Anna Lee, who performs Pablo de Saraste's "Ziguenerweisen" and the third movement from Haydn's Piano Trio in G Minor with 11-year-old pianist Alice Burla and 13-year-old cellist Taeguk Mun.
