AMC Scraps Majority of Unscripted Programming — Which Shows Made the Cut?

AMC is scrapping nearly all of its reality programming in an effort to rebuild the network's scripted content.

"Scripted originals are at the core of the AMC brand, iconic shows like Mad MenBreaking Bad and The Walking Dead have driven AMC's evolution into a must-have television network," an AMC spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter. "We are proud of our efforts in unscripted programming and the unique worlds we have been able to introduce, but in an environment of exploding content options for viewers, we have decided to make scripted programming our priority."

AMC Announces Breaking Bad Premiere, Live After-Show Talking Bad, Shows in Development

Breaking Bad will return with the show's final eight episodes on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 9/8c, AMC announced on Wednesday. The network also announced a live weekly after-show called Talking Bad.

Following Breaking Bad will be the premiere of Low Winter Sun, a contemporary story of deception, revenge and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred. Mark Strong (Zero Dark Thirty) and Lennie James (The Walking Dead) star, with Criminal Minds' Chris Mundy as executive producer and writer. Talking Dead will debut immediately after at 11/10c and will analyze and dissect the details of Breaking Bad's final season.
