New Look, New Faces: Why Franklin & Bash Stars Call Season 4 a Return to Form

Changes are coming to TNT's Franklin & Bash.

When the fourth season kicks off Wednesday (10/9c), the legal comedy will feature new characters, a few major exits and a new look. Rachel (Heather Locklear) has left the firm, in addition to original cast members Pindar (Kumail Nanjami) and Carmen (Dana Davis), while Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) too have taken on new, more senior level positions within Infeld-Daniels. But don't expect our favorite slackers to button up. The duo says that, if anything, Season 4 feels like a return to form with Franklin and Bash as the renegade underdogs you're rooting for.

Realizing they're going to have to think outside the box to help the beautiful ladies of Kandy's, they do the Franklin & Bashiest maneuver to date, and help the strippers of Los Angeles unionize. The guys' old nemesis Damien Karp rejoins the firm, and Peter exchanges his legal services for the lavish title of Duke in lieu of pay, culminating in a gala at which Jared drunkenly makes a pass at Peter's mom - or is it the other way around? Kevin McKidd and James Remar also guest star.

Peter and Jared tackle journalist shield law when they agree to defend a high school newspaper reporter accused of running a smear campaign against another student. Winning this one is especially important to Peter because the mother of the young journalist is an old High School flame who got away. Meanwhile, Jared and Swattello are required to fill out HR forms detailing the nature of their professional relationship and Infeld sues a dry cleaner over a pair of extremely overpriced pants.

Premise: Two offbeat, young-gun street lawyers join a top-notch law firm in this buddy-legal drama. Jared Franklin and Peter Bash's brash, bad-boy antics shake up the buttoned-down firm, which is headed by eccentric boss Stanton Infeld, whose shifty nephew---a corporate-climbing lawyer at the firm---is none too pleased with Franklin and Bash's unconventional methods and sets out to take the pair down.
