This twist on the classic tale moves the story to New Orleans, where detectives (Parker Posey, Adam Goldberg) link a series of murders to a crazed scientist (Thomas Kretschmann) plotting to replace humans with a manufactured race. The pair also find an unlikely ally in the sinister scientist's first creation (Vincent Perez).

    Question: I know that many people — my own sister included — refer to Dr. Frankenstein's monster by the name of his creator. Is this laziness on their part, or is there some basis in any of the Frankenstein movies for calling the creature "Frankenstein"?
