Actual FBI cases are the basis for this long-running drama from producer Quinn Martin, which follows a no-nonsense agent and his young partner. The series was unfailingly flattering in its portrayal of the bureau, and its director J. Edgar Hoover gave his full cooperation to the series. Episodes occasionally ended with a brief segment asking the public for information on fugitives on the most-wanted list (long before `America's Most Wanted' took that concept a giant step further).
