"You will see happy times between the two. They might not necessarily be the happy times that we want, but we'll certainly be working towards more happy times," showrunner Dee Johnson tells TVGuide.com. "They have to work through their relationship and what it means to both of them and hopefully they'll come to some understanding that leads them back to each other."

Father's Day may still be a couple months away, but you don't have to wait to show your appreciation for one of the greatest TV dads of all time. Jim Anderson (Robert Young) and the rest of the premier sitcom family have made their way to DVD with the release of the four-disc set of Father Knows Best's complete first season from Shout Factory. In addition to the season's 24 episodes, the set includes "24 Hours in Tyrantland," a previously unaired episode created for the U.S. government as well as the pilot to Robert Young's next project, Window on Main Street. The set also includes new cast interviews, behind-the-scenes color footage and a collection of Young's home movies. However, to many die-hard fans chagrin, many episodes in the set are the 22-minute versions created for syndication rather than the original 26-minute cuts. Shout Factory might not know best in that regard, but it's still great to finally have this TV classic on DVD. Adam Bryant

Question: Here's an argument you can settle. I know that for a while hick sitcoms were huge on TV, but I had an argument with a friend about the trend. Wouldn't you say it was The Andy Griffith Show that started them all? Thank you for your help. I know you won't let me down.
Answer: The Andy Griffith Show is the show that's remembered for breaking the rural-comedy trend wide open after it debuted in 1960, Randall, but the comedy that defied the experts who thought folks in the big markets didn't want to watch their country-folk cousins came along three years earlier: The Real McCoys, which was a runaway hit for ABC before jumping to CBS for a final season in 1962.
